Our approach

How our courses work

A clear process, from understanding your needs to certifying each participant.

  1. 01

    Understanding your needs

We meet your team to understand the people, the setting and what you hope the course will achieve.

  2. 02

    Shaped around your people

Topics, examples and language are adapted to your setting and the people taking part.

  3. 03

    Guided sessions

Supportive, interactive sessions led by our well-being team, in person, online or on site.

  4. 04

    Certificate on completion

Everyone who completes the course receives a numbered certificate. Organisations receive a summary for their records.

Featured course · HM-C01Certificate on completion

Certificate in Mental Health and Resilience for Overseas Employment

A well-being course for domestic workers and others taking up jobs abroad. Workers live and work inside other people's homes and workplaces, often far from support. This course prepares them emotionally for that move, so they stay well, work well and know where to turn.

  • 16 hours · 4 days
  • English and Luganda
  • Domestic, care and hospitality workers
  • UGX 100,000 per person · groups of 20+ UGX 60,000

What the course covers

  1. 01Preparing for a new country and culture
  2. 02Coping with homesickness and isolation
  3. 03Managing stress, anger and long hours
  4. 04Respectful communication and boundaries
  5. 05Caring for children, older people and the sick
  6. 06Knowing your rights and staying safe
  7. 07Staying connected with home
  8. 08Coming home well

Who the overseas course is for

  • Recruitment agencies

Add certified well-being preparation to your pre-departure preparation, and send employers better-prepared workers.

  • Government and embassies

A structured, documented course that can complement pre-departure orientation and support the protection of Ugandan workers abroad.

  • Workers and families

Go abroad prepared, confident and with a certificate that shows employers you are ready for their home or workplace.

Course list

Our courses

Join a scheduled course on your own, or book a private course for your organisation. A private course costs UGX 2,500,000 per day for a group of up to 25 people. See upcoming dates.

Certificates

Certification you can rely on

Employers increasingly value people who look after their well-being and support others. When you complete a Healing Minds course you receive a certificate that records the course, its hours and the date, ready to add to your CV and share with employers.

  • An added advantage when applying for jobs. Shows employers you can support colleagues, clients and yourself.
  • Recognised at work. Count it towards appraisals, promotion and continuing professional development.
  • A record for organisations. Schools and employers receive a record for the whole team, with a unique number on every certificate.
Certificates and letters

What you receive, and what it shows

Certificates and letters are included in the fee.

  • Certificates

Courses and group programmes give a numbered certificate that an employer can check with us. A certificate of completion needs at least 80% attendance; shorter programmes give a certificate of attendance. It shows what you took part in, never anything about your health. It is not a professional qualification or licence.

  • Private letters

Counselling and therapy do not come with certificates, to protect your privacy. We write a private letter, such as proof of attendance, only when you ask in writing.

  • Work, travel or visa letters

These are issued only after a Psychological Assessment. Our Clinical Lead signs them, and they say only what the assessment found.

Getting support from Healing Minds

What happens when you reach out, what it costs, and how to book a session for yourself or refer someone else.

How it works

Four steps from first contact to ongoing care

  1. 01

    Reach out

Call, WhatsApp, email or use the form below. Tell us a little about what is going on.

  2. 02

    A first conversation

We listen, answer your questions and agree the best next step together.

  3. 03

    Assessment and plan

A clinician gets to know you or your child and shares a clear plan of support.

  4. 04

    Support and review

Regular sessions, with progress reviewed together and referral to partners when needed.

What to expect in your first session

  • It is a private, unhurried conversation of about 50 to 60 minutes.
  • You share only what you feel ready to share.
  • For children, a parent or carer usually joins part of the first session.
  • You leave with a clear idea of the next step.

We will always tell you the cost before you book. No one is turned away without a conversation about what is possible.

Your safety and privacy

Confidentiality and safeguarding

What you share stays private

Your sessions and records are confidential and stored securely. We only share information with your permission, or if someone is at serious risk of harm, and we will explain this to you at the start.

Keeping children and adults safe

Everyone who works with us is trained in safeguarding. If we are worried about a child's or adult's safety, we follow a clear process and work with the right authorities to protect them.

What we do not offer

Healing Minds is not a hospital or an emergency service.

  • Hospital admission or overnight stays
  • Prescribing medication
  • Detox or residential care
  • Emergency response

When these are needed, we refer you to partner hospitals and services and keep supporting you.
